About the Trip

Escape to the wild beauty of New Zealand’s Hauraki Gulf for a Ritual Union retreat where movement, nature, adventure and restoration come together. Set on Kawau Island, just off the coast of the Matakana region, this is an invitation to slow down, reconnect and experience the magic of island life. Our days will balance intentional movement with time to explore, unwind and enjoy the beauty of our surroundings. Begin with yoga and Pilates, build strength and energy with an outdoor circuit class, and reconnect with the natural world through forest bathing and peaceful walks beneath the native canopy. Between adventures, enjoy the island’s wellness amenities, including a swimming pool, sauna, outdoor baths, kayaking, paddleboarding and lawn games. Make time for a massage, a refreshing dip or simply a quiet afternoon taking in the Bon Accord harbour views. With nourishing meals and space to move at your own pace, there is room for both adventure and stillness. Beyond the island, we’ll discover the charm of the Matakana region with curated excursions and local experiences. Explore the area’s vineyards, wander through a local farmers market and visit the historic Mansion House and its beautiful gardens on Kawau Island. We’ll make time for an island picnic, embrace the slower pace of coastal living and gather for sunset at the Kawau Yacht Club, where the golden light over the water sets the scene for an evening together. There will be opportunities to explore, connect and enjoy a little spontaneity along the way, balanced with restorative moments and time just for you. Wild & Still is more than a getaway. It’s an opportunity to move your body, immerse yourself in nature, discover the beauty of New Zealand and return home feeling grounded, refreshed and inspired. Come for the adventure. Stay for the stillness.
